9.00am    Wake up & Shake up LIVE

First thing in the morning we will dance and sing a song of joy ... especially for our ARK children and those young at heart.

9.30am     Morning Prayer*

Morning prayer is intended and arranged to sanctify the morning. St. Basil the Great gives an excellent description of this character in these words: "It is said in the morning in order that the first stirrings of our mind and will may be consecrated to God and that we may take nothing in hand until we have been gladdened by the thought of God, as it is written: 'I was mindful of God and was glad' (Ps 77:4)."

10.00am   'Word made flesh'

This morning Karen F, along with her daughters Kasia and Ania and long time friend and Friscan Sarah, will kick off our week together. Karen has been a part of the Maltfriscan Community for over 30 years (one of the brave ones who joined the Maltfriscan Community house, the Sisters, for a while).  She has been in various ministries and parish roles in her time and her kitchen is a favourite Friscan hotspot where great hospitality and AMAZING food is always in abundance. Click Here for the article from the tablet that Karen took inspiration from.

11.00am     Lectio

Lectio Divina is a Latin term which means "divine reading" and describes a way of reading the Scriptures whereby we gradually let go of our own agenda and open ourselves to what God wants to say to us. The Word of God is alive and active and will transform each of us if we open ourselves to receive what God wants to give us.

12.15pm    Lunchtime Social

Especially for those who are working and would like to connect with the community briefly during a lunch break. Pop on and join us for as long as you like or are able.

1.30pm    Coffee & catch up

A social drop-in with no agenda to touch base and have a catch-up. A chance to meet new faces and reconnect with familiar (maybe older and wrinklier). All are welcome!

At 2pm a group will split off for discussions on the morning's input (please join before 2pm to be part of this group discussion).

2.00pm   Workshops

Workshop 1                 Virtual Walk - With the Colemans

Workshop 2               Icon painting - With Matt Janvier & Frances Norton

These workshops are designed to be accessed by children, young people and adults. There are three workshops in this series. The videos each take you through the stages of video 1 preparation, video 2 blocking in colours and video 3 finishing your icon. Have a go at painting your own icon to use in prayer time, don’t rush it, icon painting is ‘slow crafting’ and may take you all week.

Please email us pics of your finished icon. Happy painting.

4.00pm    Mass with Bro Paul*

Please open the chat facility during Mass to access the words of the songs.

5.30pm   Evening Prayer (Vespers)*

Vespers, also called Evening Prayer, is part of the Liturgy of the Hours, also known as the Divine Office. In the Liturgy of the Hours, the Church fulfils Jesus' command to "pray always" (Luke 18:1; see also 1 Thessalonians 5:17). Through this prayer, the people of God sanctify the day by continual praise of God and prayers of intercession for the needs of the world.

6.30pm   Lectio

Lectio Divina is a Latin term which means "divine reading" and describes a way of reading the Scriptures whereby we gradually let go of our own agenda and open ourselves to what God wants to say to us. The Word of God is alive and active and will transform each of us if we open ourselves to receive what God wants to give us.

6.30pm  Friends who have gone on ahead

Many of us have sadly faced the death of a loved one this year. For anyone who has been bereaved during the lockdown, our experiences of loss have been compounded by the restrictions placed on us. It is important that we create a safe space to share memories, support each other and celebrate the lives of our family and friends.

Tricia W has been a member of the Maltfriscan Community for more than 30 years and has spent much of her working life supporting end of life care.

This workshop will provide that safe space to remember those we love and to help us as we walk through our own grief journey which is as unique as those who have died. Please have a candle (and matches!) for this session, plus a photo of your loved ones. For some of us this might be more than one person. Your photo(s) will be to help you focus and you will not be asked to share them. Tissues could be useful too! Remembering our “Friends who have gone on ahead” at the beginning of our Chapter of Mats will allow us to carry them through our week together in prayer.

8.00pm   The MAN Chat

In the absence of a man dance, a man chat will have to do. Grab a drink, get comfy, and hop on. All welcome.

8.00pm   FLO

A gathering of all the ladies for a good old catch up. Grab a drink, get comfy, and hop on. All welcome.

9.00pm  Night Prayer*

Night prayer is the last prayer of the day, said before we head to bed. The Psalms that are chosen for Night Prayer are full of confidence in the Lord. As children of the promise we gather in that confidence and end our day together.

* These zooms will be recorded and available for those unable to attend approximately 2 hours after the LIVE session. Please ensure your camera is switched off in these sessions if you do not wish to be recorded.
