Ark Coordinator

RESPONSIBLE TO: Spiritual Guardian

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Committed Maltfriscans

ROLE PURPOSE

To plan the Chapter of Mats programme for children in the 0-7 and 8-11 age groups. Create appropriate environments for age groups and activities. Relate and respond to children and their carers effectively.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the Spiritual Guardian in maintaining the good order of the community
Attend management committee meetings (ARM) where appropriate
Ensure the community abides by its policies and priorities
Provide and manage resources necessary for CoM in liaison with the Finance Officer and those leading sessions and organise on-going storage of ARK materials
Carry out risk assessments for environments or activities (CoM ARK)
Implement policies in the Ark Handbook
Take an active role in the planning and organisation of CoM.

PASTORAL CARE AND FORMATION

Be available to support those leading sessions in the ARK
Ensure that the programme addresses the spiritual needs of the age group.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS

Cooperate with the Maltfriscan Community Safeguarding Officer
Ensure adult helper numbers are sufficient for each session
Be familiar with and comply with Safeguarding policies and procedures and promote good practice
Ensure all local activities operate within local Safeguarding principles.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church
A committed Maltfriscan
A willingness and ability to give suitable time to the responsibilities of the role
The ability to communicate and relate with respect and ease to children and adults
Have appropriate experience of working with the relevant age group.
